About

Hello, I'm Laurie Bonta. Founder of Be A Buddy.

We all have been tasked with finding our calling and passion in life.  My calling in life is taking care of those who require a little extra attention.  I have spent eleven wonderful years as a paraprofessional in the Special Needs department at the JR/SR high school level.  I took a leave from that to take complete care of my aging parents.  Having a father with Alzheimer's/Dementia along with Congestive Heart Failure and a mother with Chronic Kidney Failure and Diabetes, gave me a great appreciation a passion for caring for those we love.  Since their passing, I have gone into helping those through the Hospice as an auxiliary care professional and then starting Be A Buddy. I would love to become a helping hand to you and a reliable friend for the special person in your life.

What our Buddies Say...

"I have known Laurie for 30 years. In that time, I have seen her compassionately care for people with all different kinds of needs. Shes has worked in the school districts with special needs children for more that 15 years. During the time of her parents aging and illnesses, she left her full-time job of taking care and teaching children, to tend to her parents needs on a full time basis. Simply said, Laurie has a love for people with special and unique needs. Whether they are children or elderly, she cares for and loves the people that are in her care. It has been my privilege to watch how she loves people and only wants the best for them”

Janet M.

"I have known Laurie for over ten years. Shes worked in my classroom for six years. Laurie is dedicated to helping others. Her gifts of working with people who have special needs and people who are elderly is truly special. Laurie works hard with a good sense of humor.  I would be honored to have her work with someone who needs extra assistance and would recommend her every time. Laurie is honest, caring, and keeps things confidential.  I am blessed to know her and call her my friend."

Kimberly C.

Laurie is a caregiver for my husband, who has Alzheimer's.  We have found her to be cheerful and helpful.  The first time she was here, my husband had just spilled water down his shirt front--I was getting ready to go out--and Laurie swooped in and said if I had a hair dryer she could fix it right away--which she did!  No need to change everything since it was just water--the hair dryer dried it in a few minutes and Andy was dry and comfortable.  Viola!
